Airports

There are three airports in the San Francisco bay area.

San Francisco International Airport 12 miles (22 kilometers) south of the city center. This is the main airport for international flights with the other two being for domestic and other North American arrivals and departures.

Oakland International Airport is on the east side of the bay, 8 miles (13 kilometers) south of the center of Oakland with access to San Francisco over the Bay Bridge.

San Jose International Airport is on the south side of the bay. It is a few miles from the center of San Jose, and about an hour’s drive from San Francisco.

Shuttle Services / Taxi

Due to congestion and parking problems in San Francisco the best methods of reaching the center are by taxi or shuttle bus. A taxi will cost approximately 30 USD and the bus about 15 USD and these stop at a variety of downtown hotels.
